Work Placement

DAY 1
FIRST DAY IS ALWAYS THE SCARYEST.
So yesterday I started my first day at work placement which started at the crack of dawn for me (10am) as I live close to the city, it wasnt a far ride on the train to Richmond station which was good as the train we were on didnt allow alot of person space.

I arrive to staples office on time and was greeted by John Stevens, he showed me around the office, toilets, kitchen, pinball machine, street fighter machine and computer station and placed me on a computer to start my day, they said I might have to bring in my mac to work on some design work as the computers spare at the office were not as efficient as my imac(plus I everyone loves working on there own machine).

The day felt quick when doing myspace layouts as its so tedious with html coding and testing the layouts in different browsers, but my main job of the day was to do a revamp on a myspace artist called 'Oh Mercy' for there upcoming cd release, I had a listen to their music while I worked on the layout for them and I must say they are not bad, every now and then I was told to stop working on the layout and was asked to do various odd jobs like wrapping posters for upcoming tours and events and then posting them off and also doing some adding for various bands to gather public awareness through myspace.
As it quickly became 6 oclock I was shocked at how fast the day went when designing if only my safeway job felt this quick but all in all a good first day full of insight.
